Combined with domestic production, the total gold output in the country is estimated at 534.106 tons, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 2.85% [1] Group 2: Gold Consumption - In 2024, gold consumption in China is forecasted to be 985.31 tons, a decline of 9.58% compared to the previous year [2] - Gold jewelry consumption is expected to be 532.02 tons, down 24.69% year-on-year, while gold bars and coins are projected to increase by 24.54% to 373.13 tons. Industrial and other gold usage is anticipated to decrease by 4.12% to 80.16 tons [2] Group 3: Gold ETF Holdings - By the end of 2024, domestic gold ETF holdings are expected to reach 114.73 tons, an increase of 53.27 tons from the end of 2023, marking a year-on-year growth of 86.66% [3] - The People's Bank of China is projected to have increased its gold holdings by 44.17 tons throughout 2024, bringing the total gold reserves to 2279.57 tons, which ranks sixth globally and sets a new historical high for the country's gold reserves [3]
