Group 1 - The third United Nations Ocean Conference held in Nice, France, showcased 14 exemplary cases of global marine ecological protection and restoration, with the Xi Li Bay case from Qinzhou City being the only selected coastal restoration case, highlighting China's innovative practices in marine ecological protection and sustainable development [1] - The Xi Li Bay case is located in the Xi Niu Jiao Town of Qin Nan District, covering a precious contiguous sandy coastline resource of 2.8 kilometers, which has faced severe challenges due to coastal erosion exacerbated by natural factors and human activities [1] - The project adopts an integrated development model of "ecological protection and restoration + cultural tourism industry," relying on central government funding and actively attracting social capital, implementing a series of restoration projects [1] Group 2 - The restoration efforts include the construction of a 200-meter rock revetment and the treatment of 82.72 hectares of beach area, creating a comprehensive coastal protection system with beaches, protective slopes, and shelter forests [1] - The Xi Li Bay project has achieved significant results, with an average wave height reduction rate of up to 63.38% and a greening coverage rate exceeding 80%, transforming the area into a multifunctional beach forest park that provides ecological scenery, leisure, and employment for over 2,000 local residents [1] - In recent years, Guangxi has invested nearly 4 billion yuan in 10 marine ecological protection and restoration projects, managing to restore 195 kilometers of coastline and 3,301 hectares of coastal wetlands [2]
