Core Viewpoint - The High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) project, located in Beijing Huairou Science City, is set to complete its first phase of construction by the end of 2025 and will begin trial operations, marking a significant advancement in China's scientific research capabilities [1] Group 1: Project Overview - HEPS is the world's highest brightness fourth-generation synchrotron radiation source and the first high-energy synchrotron radiation source in China, designed to address major national needs and promote industrial innovation [1] - The facility will provide advanced experimental methods such as nano-probing and ultra-high temporal resolution, enabling more sensitive, precise, rapid, and complex scientific research closer to real working environments [1] Group 2: Construction Progress - Since the construction began in 2019, HEPS has nearly completed the construction of the accelerator and beamline stations, with all 15 beamlines operational [1] - The team has successfully addressed key optical issues, such as the development of nano-focusing mirrors, utilizing innovative research methods [1] Group 3: Future Plans - To maximize the capabilities of the facility, the research team is concurrently advancing subsequent construction plans, collaborating deeply with research and enterprise users [1] - The goal is to expand to 45 beamlines over the next five years, enhancing support for cutting-edge fundamental research and industrial R&D across various fields [1]
