Group 1 - BMW (China) Automotive Trade Co., Ltd. and Brilliance BMW Automotive Ltd. have filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation, in accordance with the regulations on defective automotive products [1][2] - The recall includes a total of 1,000,000 vehicles, with specific models and production dates outlined, including 1 imported 5 Series, 379 domestic X5s, and 1,012 domestic 5 Series vehicles [1][2] - The safety issue arises from a potential manufacturing defect in the starter generator's power connector, which could lead to vehicle stalling or fire hazards [1][3] Group 2 - The current recall expands upon a previous recall announced on May 9, 2025, involving additional models and a total of 4609 imported i4s, 91 imported i5s, 3244 imported i7s, and 7730 imported iXs [2] - The recall also includes 95,753 domestic i3s, 5,657 domestic i5s, 6,022 domestic iX1s, and 106,000 domestic iX3s, with specific production dates ranging from 2020 to 2025 [2] - A software upgrade will be provided for vehicles affected by an insulation fault monitoring mechanism issue, which could lead to the high-voltage system shutting down unexpectedly, increasing collision risks [3]
