Group 1 - The third China Baicheng Soda Saline-Alkali Land Resource Comprehensive Development and Utilization Waterfield Governance "Daan Model" Technical Experience Exchange Conference was held in Jilin Province, focusing on ecological safety issues in saline-alkali land governance and transitioning from quantity to quality in production [1] - The conference featured a keynote report by Academician Li Yu from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, discussing the role of "three entities" (plants, animals, and fungi) in saline-alkali land governance, highlighting innovative themes [1] - The local government plans to promote the "Daan Model" for large-scale governance and sustainable development of saline-alkali land during the 14th Five-Year Plan period [1] Group 2 - Jilin Province has prioritized the comprehensive utilization of saline-alkali land, employing technological methods to improve soil conditions for higher crop yields [2] - The Daan area has emerged as a core region for exploring new pathways in saline-alkali land utilization, supported by the Daan Alkaline Land Ecological Experiment Station, which conducts long-term monitoring and research [2] - The main techniques for saline-alkali land improvement include water conservancy projects, physical and chemical modifications, biological improvements, and agronomic measures [2] Group 3 - Since being approved as a national pilot for comprehensive utilization of saline-alkali land in 2022, Daan City has developed a "five-in-one" governance model, achieving significant agricultural productivity improvements [3] - A total of 27 remediation projects have been implemented, adding 195,700 acres of arable land and increasing grain production capacity by 235 million pounds annually [3] - The governance model has resulted in multiple benefits, including increased agricultural efficiency, farmer income, tax revenue growth, and ecological value enhancement [3]
