Group 1 - The overall environmental quality in China has continued to improve in the first three quarters of this year, particularly in air and surface water quality [1][2] - The average concentration of PM2.5 in 339 cities was 26.0 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 5.1% [1] - The proportion of days with good air quality increased to 87.6%, up by 1.8 percentage points year-on-year, while the proportion of days with heavy pollution remained stable at 1.1% [1] Group 2 - Among 3,641 national surface water monitoring sections, 89.0% were rated as good quality (Class I-III), an increase of 0.5 percentage points year-on-year [2] - The proportion of Class V or worse water quality sections remained stable at 0.7% [2] - In major river basins, including the Yangtze, Yellow, and Pearl Rivers, the proportion of good quality sections was 90.5%, also up by 0.5 percentage points year-on-year [2]
