Gold price today, Wednesday, November 19: Gold rises after stock prices fall

Gold (GC=F) futures opened at $4,067.80 per ounce on Wednesday, flat with Tuesday’s close of $4,066.50. The price of gold rose above $4,100 in early trading. Gold strengthened slightly after three major stock indexes lost value Tuesday. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composition (IXIC) fell 1.2%, the blue-chip-focused Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) declined 1.1%, and the large-cap S&P 500 (GSPC) was down 0.8%.
