Group 1 - The "Pacific Island Mushroom Grass Industry Development Seminar" was successfully held in Nadi, Fiji, from November 19 to 21, focusing on the innovative applications of mushroom grass technology in poverty alleviation, climate change response, infrastructure resilience, and sustainable development [1] - The seminar was co-organized by the Fiji Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University National Mushroom Grass Center, and the China-Pacific Island Mushroom Grass Regional Demonstration Center, with over 100 representatives from various countries and local communities attending [1] - Fiji's Minister of Agriculture and Waterways, Filimoni Vosarogo, emphasized the comprehensive value of mushroom grass technology, highlighting its potential to enhance food system resilience and integrate with traditional production systems [1] Group 2 - The Fiji Ministry of Education plans to incorporate mushroom grass technology into higher education curricula by 2026 as a mandatory course for agricultural talent development [2] - The Deputy Secretary of Fiji's Ministry of Public Affairs, Meteorological Services, and Transport, George Tau, stressed the importance of including mushroom grass as a "nature-based solution" in infrastructure planning to improve facility resilience and reduce maintenance costs [2] - The inventor of mushroom grass technology, Professor Lin Zhanxi, articulated that mushroom grass technology represents China's exploration of sustainable development, focusing on efficient utilization of resources and achieving unified economic, social, and ecological benefits [2] Group 3 - During the seminar, representatives visited the China-Pacific Island Mushroom Grass Technology Demonstration Center, witnessing the full industrial chain cycle from seed breeding to product development and waste reuse [3] - The project team donated processing equipment to multiple demonstration sites, and three educational institutions in Fiji established teaching and practice bases, marking a significant step towards institutionalizing local talent cultivation in mushroom grass technology [3]
