US stocks surged on Monday, heading toward a rebound to start the shortened Thanksgiving trading week as US policymakers buoyed hopes for an interest-rate cut in December. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) was up over 2%, and the S&P 500 (^GSPC) advanced more than 1.3%, as Wall Street stocks started to extend Friday's bounce.
