Core Viewpoint - The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Commerce have announced the results of the competitive evaluation for pilot cities in new consumption formats, with 50 cities including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Chongqing selected, along with Jinan, Qingdao, and Yantai from Shandong Province. The pilot program will last for two years and aims to support innovation in consumption through three main areas [1]. Group 1: Pilot Program Objectives - The pilot program will focus on enhancing the first-release economic service system by supporting the establishment of first-release centers, economic clusters, and platforms for new product launches, as well as encouraging leading domestic and international brands to open flagship and concept stores [1]. - The program will promote innovative service consumption scenarios by supporting the development of new business formats and models, creating integrated consumption spaces for commerce, tourism, culture, and sports, and establishing night-time cultural and tourism consumption hubs [1]. - The initiative will also facilitate collaborations between quality consumption resources and well-known IPs, encouraging the development of IP-related products and immersive consumption spaces, as well as supporting traditional brands and new consumption enterprises in opening new stores and flagship locations [1].
