The U.S. unemployment rate is the highest it's been since the Covid pandemic, despite employers hiring more people than expected in November, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The economy added 64,000 non-farm payroll jobs in November, well ahead of the 45,000 jobs economists polled by The Wall Street Journal expected.
