Core Viewpoint - The modernization project of the Shishihang irrigation area in Anhui Province has received approval from the provincial development and reform commission, marking a new phase in its modernization efforts [1] Group 1: Project Overview - The Shishihang irrigation area is the largest irrigation area built after the founding of New China and has been included in national irrigation development plans and key water conservancy projects [1] - The project involves three cities (Lu'an, Hefei, and Huainan) and 15 counties, with major construction activities including the renovation of 508 main and branch canals, totaling 3,828.11 km, and the construction of 37 new or expanded water supply pump stations [1] Group 2: Investment and Impact - The estimated total investment for the project is 19.26 billion yuan, with a construction period of 48 months [1] - Upon completion, the irrigation guarantee rate will exceed 80%, the integrity rate of key projects will reach over 95%, and the irrigation water utilization coefficient will improve to above 0.58 [1] - The project aims to enhance irrigation coverage by 7.2 million acres, increase annual water-saving capacity by 243 million cubic meters, and boost annual grain production capacity by 576 million jin [1] Group 3: Water Resource Management - The project will further improve the layout of the irrigation area and establish a "four-water mutual assistance" water resource allocation system, enhancing the optimization of water resource allocation and supply security in the Jianghuai watershed region of Anhui Province [1]
