Group 1 - The Ba Mountain Tunnel, located in Chongqing's Zhong County, is a 7,306-meter long high-risk tunnel with complex geological conditions, including harmful gases, weak surrounding rock, karst formations, high temperatures, and high gas levels [3] - The shallow buried section of the tunnel has a minimum distance of only 16 meters from the bedrock interface, and it passes under roads and accumulations, leading to poor surrounding rock stability and a high risk of collapse and deformation after excavation [3] Group 2 - To address the complex geological conditions and multiple risk points, the construction unit organized simultaneous operations in four work areas: "import, No. 1 inclined shaft, No. 2 inclined shaft, and cross tunnel" [6] - Strict measures were implemented during construction, including "advanced management, strict grouting, short excavation, strong support, quick closure, and frequent measurements," ensuring the successful completion of the tunnel [6] Group 3 - The Yuwan High-Speed Railway is a crucial part of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network, connecting Chongqing East Station to Wanzhou North Station over a total length of 251 kilometers with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour [10] - Once operational, the railway will significantly shorten travel times between the northeastern Sichuan Three Gorges urban agglomeration and the main urban area of Chongqing, greatly facilitating travel for residents along the route and playing an important role in supporting the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and promoting the "Belt and Road" initiative alongside the Yangtze River Economic Belt [10]
