Group 1 - The new railway project connecting Nanyang, Xinyang, and Hefei has progressed with the evaluation and industry review meeting recently held [1] - The Nanyang-Xinyang-Hefei high-speed railway will connect southern Henan and western Anhui, linking various existing and planned railways [1] - The project began preliminary survey and design work in 2022, with key milestones including passing the preliminary feasibility review by the National Railway Group in May 2024 and the feasibility study review in September 2025 [1] Group 2 - The Anhui section of the railway project will span 10.581 km, featuring 6 new bridges totaling 7.168 km and 1 tunnel of 1.305 km, with bridge and tunnel accounting for 80.08% of the total length [2] - The province is accelerating the construction of nine key railway projects, totaling 1006 km, including the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei and Hefei-Wuhan lines [2] - Future plans include promoting the implementation of the Hefei-Suxian high-speed railway and the Nanyang-Xinyang-Hefei projects, aiming to integrate more connectivity projects into national planning [2]
