Dow Slips From Record High as Stock Market Takes a Breather

The S&P 500 was up 0.1%. The Dow was down 109 points, or 0.2%, after opening higher. Both finished Tuesday's sessions at closing highs. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.1%. Earlier in the morning, ADP's National Employment Report said the U.S. added 41,000 private sector jobs in December. That was above economists' expectations at 25,000, according to FactSet.
