Alpiq acquires 100MW Cheviré battery storage facility in western France

Swiss energy company Alpiq has acquired the Cheviré battery storage facility, a 100MW/200-megawatt-hour (MWh) site in the port of Nantes Saint-Nazaire, France, from Harmony Energy, furthering its focus on battery storage facility acquisitions in France. Cheviré is currently the largest battery storage facility in France, capable of providing ancillary grid services or meeting the electricity demand of 170,000 households for two hours.
