The number of registered waste management companies peaked in 2023 at over 179,000 [2] - The provinces with the highest number of waste management-related enterprises are Shandong, Hebei, and Jiangsu, with approximately 132,000, 116,000, and 98,000 companies respectively. Guangdong and Henan follow in terms of enterprise numbers [2]
