重庆发现命名两种蜘蛛新物种

Group 1 - The discovery of two new spider species named Wulong Ota Spider and Baima Mountain Ota Spider was announced by the Forestry Bureau of Wulong District, Chongqing [1] - The research team from Southwest University conducted an investigation in the Baima Mountain Nature Reserve, identifying over 50 spider species, including several suspected new species by December 1, 2025 [1] - The new species belong to the Ota genus and are classified under the phylum Arthropoda, class Arachnida, order Araneae, family Theridiidae, featuring unique morphological characteristics compared to other species in the same genus [1] Group 2 - A total of 141 species of the Ota genus have been recorded globally, with 118 species found in China, predominantly in southern regions, including 15 species documented in Chongqing [2]
