Financial concerns drive retirees back to work: AARP

For a growing number of retirees, the exit from the workforce is proving temporary. Financial strain and economic uncertainty are pushing older Americans back into the job market, a new AARP survey found. The survey of nearly 2,400 adults age 50 and older, conducted in winter 2025, found that 7% of retirees had returned to work in the past six months.
