Mortgage and refinance interest rates today, March 24, 2026: Higher yet again

Mortgage rates are higher again today. According to Zillow, the average 30-year fixed rate is now 6.37%. That’s a quarter-point rise in just one week. The 15-year loan is 5.82%, up 17 basis points since last Tuesday.  Bond yields fell Monday, as President Trump postponed a deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
