France announces it will recognize a Palestinian state

French President Emanuel Macron's big announcement that France will recognize the state of Palestine, making France the first G7 nation to join the vast majority of UN member states which already recognize the state. In a social media post, the president said he'll make the announcement in front of the UN General Assembly in September, adding, "The urgent priority today is to end the war in Gaza and to bring relief to the civilian population. ...
