Southwest slammed for changing extra seat refund policy

Southwest is changing another long-standing policy. So, starting in January, the airline will require passengers who encroach upon the neighboring seat to buy an additional ticket, which may not be refunded. Now, previously, you could either pay the cost of an extra seat in advance and later get a refund, or show up at the airport and request an extra seat at no charge.So now the second seat will only be refundable if the flight takes off with at least one open seat and both are in the same fair class.
