Circle, the issuer of USDC, plans to introduce an on-chain refund mechanism on its institutional Arc blockchain to serve banks and treasury teams. The new “Refund Protocol” allows disputed payments to be held in escrow and resolved by an authorized arbiter, enabling refunds or counter-payments on-chain in cases of fraud or disputes.
