Jump’s Firedancer team proposed SIMD-0370 to remove Solana’s fixed compute unit block limit after Alpenglow. Instead of a static cap (60M CUs, rising to 100M in SIMD-0286), block producers pack max transactions, and slower validators skip blocks. This drives a cycle: producers earn more, lagging validators lose rewards and upgrade, raising network capacity.
