Federal government shuts down after Congress fails to reach deal, and how it impacts Americans

As the clock strikes midnight in just over 10 seconds, our government is shutting down. That is because Congress could not agree on a spending bill. Now, the two sides seem to be ready to wait it out to get what they want. Though, we may see some activity on the hill on Friday after the Yamapour holiday.
