Societal Impact & Trauma - Gen Z has experienced unprecedented disasters, leading to exhaustion with the status quo [10] - Over half of Gen Z peers experienced cyberbullying, and two in five were diagnosed with a mental health condition [6] - The frequency, severity, and scale of tragedies experienced by Gen Z before age 30 significantly impacts their identity [11] Gen Z Characteristics & Response - Gen Z is characterized by advocacy, environmental awareness, mental health protection, and a willingness to take breaks [12] - Gen Z is conditioned to take action quickly, often out of fear that no one else will [12] - Gen Z channels frustration into creating spaces built out of love and invites community healing [18] Community Action & Recovery - Four Gen Z women formed the Altadena Recovery Team (ART) after the Eaton fire [13] - ART raised almost $250,000 for the community within 10 months after the fire [15] - ART's goal is to amplify community needs, restore hope and mental health, and transform traditional solutions [15][16] - Gen Z is underrepresented in many conversations, but they take action and stick around to see it through [18]
