According to The DeFi Edge, 85% of tokens issued in 2025 have fallen below their launch price. VC-backed projects show declining returns, with some deeply unprofitable. In Q2 2022, crypto VCs raised nearly $17 billion across 80+ new funds. Since then, VC returns have declined, new fund formation hit a five-year low, and last quarter’s fundraising was only 12% of Q2 2022 levels.
