South Korean police announced that multiple cases of so-called “crypto-funded retaliation attacks” are under investigation. Several suspects stated that they accepted assignments via Telegram and received the equivalent of approximately 300 to 600 USD in cryptocurrency to carry out acts such as graffiti, dumping food waste, spraying feces at victims’ residences, and distributing threatening or defamatory leaflets.
