Matt Smith monitors ship activity in the strait as an oil market analyst for Kepler, which tracks global trade and shipping. He made this time lapse showing how quickly ship traffic moved around the bend of the straight in the days before the war. So on a normal day, you see about 100 or so ships that passed through there.
