Core Viewpoint - Advanced composite materials are widely used in high-end equipment fields such as aerospace, automotive, new energy, and marine engineering due to their excellent properties like high strength, high modulus, high temperature resistance, and corrosion resistance. The interface between the reinforcement and matrix of composite materials is a key factor that determines the preparation process, overall performance, and application scenarios of these materials. Recent years have seen a surge in research on composite material interfaces, covering various aspects such as characterization, simulation, interface control, and functional interface development, which is crucial for optimizing material performance and expanding application areas [1]. Event Overview - The "2025 Fourth Composite Material Interface Forum" will be held from July 16 to 18, 2025, in Shenzhen, Guangdong, organized by Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) and hosted by DT New Materials. The forum will focus on four main themes: strengthening and performance analysis of composite material interfaces, microscopic characterization and detection of composite material interfaces, multifunctional composite material interface design and development, and optimization and recycling of green composite material interfaces [1]. Themes and Topics - Strengthening and Performance Analysis of Composite Material Interfaces - Carbon fiber composite interface reinforcement technology and applications - Thermoplastic composite interface optimization - Research on the surface/interface of polyimide fibers, aramid fibers, and PBO fibers - Surface/interface studies of graphene, carbon nanotubes, and other nano-composites - Research and application of metal matrix composite interface performance - Toughening and application of ceramic matrix composite interfaces - Research on sizing agents to improve composite material interfaces [5][6]. - Microscopic Characterization and Detection of Composite Material Interfaces - Research on cracking and crack propagation in composite material interfaces - Microscopic analysis and damage detection of composite material interfaces - Molecular dynamics simulation of composite material interfaces - Reliability verification of composite material interface performance - Standardized testing of composite material interface performance - Theoretical enhancement and application of composite material interfaces - Modification technology and related equipment for thermoplastic composite interfaces [6]. - Multifunctional Composite Material Interface Design and Development - Damage and protection of composite material interfaces in extreme environments - Interface control and application of composite materials for aerospace [6]. - Optimization and Recycling of Green Composite Material Interfaces - Design of interface reinforcement for plant fiber composite materials - Research on the compatibility of bio-based composite material interfaces - Multi-scale performance optimization of bio-based composites - Recycling and reuse of green composites [6][8]. Academic Engagement - The forum invites all participating units to submit academic posters to showcase their latest research findings. A special session for poster evaluation will be held, with online voting starting on July 1, where the top three posters will receive the "Best Academic Poster" award [8].
