Group 1 - Iran executed two members of the banned opposition group "People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran" for using homemade projectile weapons against civilian infrastructure [1][2] - The individuals, Mehdi Hassani and Behrouz Ehsani-Islami, were sentenced to death for their involvement in attacks on civilians and public facilities, as well as for joining a terrorist organization [2] - The People's Mojahedin Organization was influential in the 1970s, targeting the Iranian monarchy and U.S. interests, but split from other factions during the 1979 Islamic Revolution and has been opposed to the Iranian Islamic Republic [2]
