Crypto Professors Debate: Is Ethereum Ready for Real World Assets?
Bankless· 2025-09-04 17:57
Decentralization & Real-World Integration - Decentralization is likely to prevail due to its inherent advantages, similar to Churchill's analogy about democracy [1] - Integrating real-world assets on-chain necessitates acknowledging real-world constraints and human behavior [2] - Decentralized systems offer an "opt-out" option, providing value as a store of value [2] Future Trends - A semi-permissioned or consortium-based future, like Austin's vision, is considered unsustainable [1] - Users, asset issuers, and regulators will ultimately gravitate towards decentralized networks [1]

Instant transactionTransactions now get pre-confirmed in ~0.5 seconds. So we can say it’s done instantly.Remember when Starknet was slow AF ? Now it’s one of the ...
Decentralization or Real-World Rules? - Omid Malekan vs. Austin Campbell Debate
Bankless· 2025-09-03 17:01
If Austin's version of a semi-permissioned future or consortium future becomes true, it'll blow itself up. To me, at the end of the day, the people, the users, the assets, the companies who issue those assets and the governments who regulate those companies will find themselves on a decentralized network because I'm going to garble this, but it's like the quote that Churchill said about America or it's the worst option except for every other one. And I think ultimately decentralization will win by default.A ...

RT Eli Ben-Sasson | Starknet.io (@EliBenSasson)Starknet Grinta version (v0.14.0) brought a whole list of remarkable features and improvements (it's a mega version, even when taking into account the hiccups). But one amazing milestone is moving from a centralized architecture to a decentralized one. It's not trivial, it's not easy, it requires focus and time and brain power to make it happen, but:DECENTRALIZATION IS IMPORTANT.We do not choose shortcuts. ...

Crypto is entering its "practical" era.> Institutional capital with longer time horizons> Trenches are mostly cooked> DAOs as legal arbitrage are being broken down> Increasing focus on revenue & sustainability> Token performance dispersion> Decentralization for the sake of it is changing> Issuance and inflation on PoS is being adjusted> Airdrops are increasingly commoditized> Teams being forced to achieve PMF> Apps are in the limelight> Marketing is breaking through traditional mediums rather than just CT> ...

RT Omar Espejel 🎣 (@espejelomar)Let's break down this decentralization in Starknet’s v0. 14. 0 means, step by stepFirst remember the problem it solves: In simple blockchains (even in early L2s like Starknet), there's usually someone (the "sequencer") who is the central point of the network: they take transactions, put them in blocks, and send them to the main chain (here, Ethereum). Which is all very efficient but leaves us with one big point of failure: If that sequencer goes down, succumbs to hacks, or is ...
