RT hodlonaut #BIP-110 (@hodlonaut)Let's have a look at your dEbunKinG here:"No red carpet"?@jonatack was top-3 Core contributor globally by volume. His own words, on record from his presentation at PlanB Forum El Salvador:"The red carpet was rolled out for them and they got funding immediately, while the others who didn't fit the identity characteristics struggled very, very mightily.""OP_RETURN isn't used for spam"?Bitcoin Magazine, september 2023: "An interesting problem with Runes is that some transactio ...

RT hodlonaut #BIP-110 (@hodlonaut)1/In 2025 Bitcoin Core removed a decade-old mempool policy default — a configurable limit on how much non-financial data nodes would relay. OP_RETURN was effectively uncapped. Not a consensus rule. A default setting. But defaults govern what most of the network does. Which governs what miners see. Which governs what gets mined. The justification: it wasn’t working anyway, data was getting in through a loophole. What wasn’t disclosed: that loophole had been deliberately kept op ...

According to Cryptopolitan, Bitcoin Core maintainer Gloria Zhao has stepped down and revoked her signing key, a routine move that does not affect Bitcoin’s consensus or security, and reports confirm her departure is unrelated to early Bitcoin funding controversies linked to Jeffrey Epstein. Zhao had contributed to Bitcoin Core for over six years with a focus on mempool policy and transaction relay. https://t.co/5cDSnCrpwm ...

RT Uncle Rockstar Developer (@r0ckstardev)What seems obvious to me is that no Bitcoin Core devs are going to invest the time or reputation to drive positive change and resolve issues that we're facing. Hell, v30 couldn't even preserve previous defaults. A certain consensus has formed, and going against it would put their careers and grant prospects at risk. That is just the reality. So try not to let what's happening frustrate you too much. You can frame what is happening as gaslighting, but you can also see ...

RT Samson Mow (@Excellion)Bitcoin Core is not a democracy governed by votes. It’s supposed to be based on rough consensus. Anyone can see that there is no consensus on relaxing OP_RETURN limits. Pushing ahead on this change is going down a slippery slope. ...
