Charter Communications stock was down sharply in mid-day trading Friday after the company reported second-quarter earnings well below Wall Street expectations. The Spectrum cable and broadband provider said its second-quarter adjusted earnings came in at $9.18 a share and revenue hit almost $13.8 billion.
