Solana Network Update - Solana blocks have increased in size by 20% [1] - Each transaction consumes "compute units" (CUs), similar to fuel for a car [1] - Previously, a Solana block had a capacity of 48 million CUs [1] - This capacity was increased to 50 million CUs before the current increase [1] - The block capacity has now increased to 60 million CUs [1] - The goal is to at least double the block capacity going forward [1] Implications of Increased Block Size - More transactions or more complex transactions can now fit per block [1] - Increased block size aims to lower fees, provide more expressiveness for developers, and improve user experience [1]
