Financial Performance - Revenue from continuing operations increased by 8% to £1,240 million, with an underlying growth of 3%[11] - Operating profit from continuing operations rose by 6% to £186 million, with an underlying increase of 1%[11] - Profit before tax increased by 10% to £160 million[11] - Free cash flow increased significantly by 86% to £132 million[11] - Total basic EPS increased by 17% to 469p[11] Divisional Performance - John Crane's revenue increased by 6% to £474 million, driven by original equipment (OE) sales[12] - Smiths Detection's revenue increased by 4% to £378 million, also led by OE sales[12] - Flex-Tek's revenue increased by 3% to £248 million, driven by aerospace[12] - Smiths Interconnect's revenue decreased by 7% to £140 million, due to a market slowdown[12] - Smiths Medical (discontinued operations) reported revenue of £434 million, a 1% increase[14] Balance Sheet and Liquidity - The company has a strong balance sheet with a pension accounting surplus of £486 million[16] - Net debt stands at £13 billion, with a net debt to EBITDA ratio of 18x[16] - The company has liquidity of over £850 million, including approximately £250 million in cash and an undrawn £600 million revolving credit facility[17]
