Elon Musk The future we're building -- and boring TED
名人访谈· 2024-09-20 07:32
Elon, hey, welcome back to TED. It's great to have you here. Thanks for having me. So, in the next half hour or so, we're going to spend some time exploring your vision for what an exciting future might look like, which I guess makes the first question a little ironic. Why are you boring? Yeah. I ask myself that frequently. We're trying to dig a hole under LA, and this is to create the beginning of what will hopefully be a 3D network of tunnels. to alleviate congestion. So, I mean, right now, I think one of ...

Get a mask great to see you how are you good are you. I mean we're here at the texas gigafactory the day before this thing opens it's been pretty crazy out there thank you so much for making time. I would love you to help us cast our minds i don't have ten twenty maybe thirty years into the future. And help us try to picture what it would take to build a future that's worth getting excited about. You've often said, the last time you spoke at TED, you said that was really just a big driver. Good afternoon. My colleagues and I remain squarely focused on achieving our dual mandate goals of maximum employment and stable prices for the benefit of the American people. Our economy is strong overall and has made significant progress toward our goals over the past two years. The labor market has cooled from its formerly overheated state. Inflation has eased substantially from a peak of 7% to an estimated 2.2% as of August. We're committed to maintaining our economy's strength by supporting maximum emp ...
Elon Musk - Where AI's Biggest Impact Will Be
名人访谈· 2024-09-19 10:09
Shifting gears to AI, Peter was here earlier and he was talking about how so far the only company to really make money off AI is NVIDIA with the chips. Do you have a sense yet of where you think the big applications will be from AI? Is it going to be enabling self-driving? Is it going to be enabling robots? Is it transforming industries? I mean, it's still, I think, early in terms of where the big business impact is going to be. Do you have a sense yet? I mean, I think the spending on AI probably runs ahead ...
马斯克:傻子才用激光雷达,用激光雷达的都注定要失败

LiDAR is a fool's errand and anyone relying on LiDAR is doomed. Expensive sensors that are unnecessary. It's like having a whole bunch of expensive appendices. Like, one appendix is bad, well, now they want to put a whole bunch of them. That's ridiculous. Let me point out that I don't actually super hate LIDAR as much as it may sound. But at SpaceX, SpaceX Dragon uses LIDAR to navigate to the space station and dock. Not only that, SpaceX developed its own LIDAR from scratch to do that, and I spearheaded tha ...

Hey, Larry Jackson, aider at KeyBank Capital Markets. If I think about 2029, what about artificial intelligence has to go right for those targets to be hit? And how right does it have to go for those targets to be hit? Thank you. OK, I think on the AI, I mean, our dependency on AI, by 2029, I can guarantee you AI is not going to be the problem because the simple phrase, the race goes on. And I mean, this is like formula one. What do I mean by that? It's really not one winner. I mean, you got three people on ...
