Group 1 - The core initiative involves a three-year comprehensive marine garbage cleanup action launched by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment in collaboration with multiple departments, focusing on 65 coastal bays across the country [1] - The average coverage of garbage on the beaches has significantly decreased from 5.14‰ in the summer of last year to 1.25‰ in the spring of this year, representing an overall reduction of 75.6% [1] - A total of 157 concentrated marine garbage distribution segments were identified, with a total length of approximately 126 kilometers, and these segments have largely completed the cleanup of existing garbage by this spring [1] Group 2 - Zhejiang Province has established 36 marine plastic waste collection points, achieving full coverage across coastal cities and counties, and has cumulatively recycled 50,800 tons of marine plastic waste [2] - Other coastal provinces such as Shanghai, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Hainan have developed unique marine plastic waste recycling models tailored to local conditions, promoting resource conservation and synergistic effects in pollution reduction and carbon emission cuts [2] - Financial institutions like Agricultural Bank of China and Agricultural Development Bank of China have included marine plastic recycling in their green finance support project lists [2]
