Core Viewpoint - The Beijing Municipal Financial Office and the People's Bank of China have successfully submitted a case titled "Barrier-Free Payment, More Convenient Journey" for foreign visitors, which was selected as one of the "Top Ten Innovative Practices for Optimizing the Business Environment" by the National Development and Reform Commission [1] Group 1: Payment Service Optimization - In March 2024, Beijing will implement a plan to further optimize payment services and enhance payment convenience, addressing the payment challenges faced by foreign visitors [1] - More than 10 measures will be introduced, including innovations like "tap card access" for foreign cards and the integration of two cards, aimed at improving the business environment and enhancing the "Beijing Service" brand [1] Group 2: Transaction Data and Coverage - As of the second quarter of 2025, the "tap card access" for foreign cards has processed 143,950 transactions amounting to 7.494 million RMB, with an average daily entry of 2,687 people and a peak of nearly 4,700 people in a single day, achieving "zero complaints" [1] - By the end of July 2025, 18,000 key merchants in Beijing will have full coverage for foreign card acceptance, with 11,400 ATMs supporting cash withdrawals from foreign cards [2] - The digital RMB application has been implemented in 892,000 online and offline scenarios, and 15 popular foreign e-wallet apps are smoothly operational in Beijing [2] Group 3: Service for Foreign Visitors - Since the establishment of the foreign guest payment service demonstration zone on February 5, 2024, the payment service centers at Beijing Capital International Airport and Daxing International Airport have served 37,000 foreign guests [2] - The demonstration zone has processed 1.517 million foreign card transactions totaling 539 million RMB, along with 190,000 currency exchange transactions amounting to 238 million RMB, and 87,000 cash withdrawal transactions totaling 144 million RMB [2]
