OpenAI joins Meta in adding watermarks to AI-generated images

ChatGPT developer OpenAI has started to include watermarks on images generated by its DALL·E 3 artificial intelligence model, according to a company update. OpenAI is using the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) technical standard, which allows publishers, companies and others to embed metadata in media to verify its origin and related information, on images generated via its website and application programming interfaces (APIs).
