Nick nailed this.Ethereum's #1 priority should be avoiding temptation.I'll never forget a quote from @darran0x last year:"I'm 100% confident there will never be a chain slower than Bitcoin."Like it or not, that's an owned sector that is giving Bitcoin its value. It is more-ossified than any other chain, which gives it its value to the broader world as all other things continue to iterate at a faster and faster pace. This should be Ethereum's North Star, but with it's core properties (censorship resistance, l ...
'Only $250K?' Jack Dorsey Prods Tether Over Donation to Support Bitcoin Devs
Yahoo Finance· 2025-10-18 13:01
Sometimes it can be easier to say nothing at all. This week, stablecoin giant Tether announced a $250,000 donation to OpenSats to support Bitcoin developers—only for one of the world’s best-known programmers (and Bitcoin maximalists) to publicly chastise the size of the gift. Twitter co-founder and Square CEO Jack Dorsey lampooned the donation Thursday on X, shortly after it was touted by Tether’s CEO, Paolo Ardoino. “Why only $250K?” Dorsey replied curtly to Ardoino. Tether is one of the crypto industry’ ...

alright I've had it with the gaslighting, im crashing outit is insane to say this the same week that people's funds were stuck on Lighter during a colossal risk eventpeople said Lighter was Ethereum, why did it not have the same censorship resistance and reliability as Ethereum then? who was able to exit leveraged derivative positions? people lost money here this is not theoretical, especially when it comes to derivativesthe forced txn delay is 18 days!(I dont have anything against Lighter specifically here ...

"Sequencer is only a fast lane to get into Base"When do we think we see the first invocation of a vampire sequencer?Spin up a separate machine pushing to Base's settlement contract once anyone can post a proof to it?Possible @toghrulmaharram @donnoh_eth?jesse.base.eth (@jessepollak):@iampaulgrewal @base @ethereum 3/ two critical things to note about this design:first, the sequencer is only a fast lane to get into @base. at any point, a user can also transact on @base through @ethereum directly. this brings ...

absurdly overcomplicated but fun idea: AI stablecoinswallet-level AI-agent delta-neutral stablecoins that don't actually use stablecoinslook stablecoins are great and a 10x improvement over the status quo in many waysbut there is no denying they have a tradeoff against physical cash (central stables can be frozen)if you want the same censorship resistance as cash, why not use this new AI agent wave on a wallet level to get it to long/short the native token on the chain you're on to mimic, let's say, $500 in ...

Account Abstraction Status - Full account abstraction is not yet achieved in the industry [1] - Current account transactions without ECDSA verification require intermediaries, which negatively impacts privacy, censorship resistance, and permissionless operation [1] Security and Privacy Concerns - Quantum-safe accounts currently necessitate intermediary dependency for transactions [1] - Privacy protocols rely on potentially vulnerable public broadcaster ecosystems [1] Future Outlook - Significant work remains to properly implement account abstraction [1] - The industry hopes to avoid increased intermediary dependency before achieving proper account abstraction [1]

Bitcoin L2s Demand - There's demand for using BTC in more economic settings than just hodling [1] - There's demand for doing so in a crypto-native way, without offering custody to centralized exchanges/ entities/ platforms [1] Decentralized vs Centralized Platforms - Decentralized platforms offer less friction and faster responsiveness compared to centralized exchanges (CEX) [1] - Decentralized platforms provide faster access to new crypto opportunities [2] - Decentralized platforms offer a different safety profile, relying on open-source code and smart contracts, unlike the opaque operations of CEXs [2] Starknet's Commitment - Starknet is committed to decentralization, security, self-custody, and censorship resistance [2] - Starknet is committed to the safest useable connection to Bitcoin, exploring multi-sigs, BitVM, and potentially OP_CAT for full cryptographic security [2] Starknet's Advantages - Starknet has the largest ecosystem of app developers [4] - Starknet offers the highest level of security and technical pedigree [4] - Starknet features battle-tested tech, advanced infrastructure, post-quantum STARK proofs, 100% account abstraction, and a safe Rust-like smart contract language (Cairo) [4]

Ethereum turns 10 years old
CNBC Television· 2025-07-31 15:15
So 10 years ago, Vitalic Buterine launched Ethereum as a scrappy cipher punk experiment. Today, it has become the invisible backbone of global finance. Ethereum's rails now power trillions in stable coin payments, tokenized stocks, and even new Wall Street products like ETFs.Major institutions from Black Rockck to Robin Hood are building directly on its infrastructure. I first spoke to Vitalik in Prague in 2023 when crypto developers huddled in hacker collectives fighting for privacy tools and now two years ...
