RT Matt Forney (@realmattforney)BREAKING: a whistleblower has provided extensive information on how Indian IT consulting firms Infosys and Wipro engage in discrimination against non-Indians and facilitate Indian visa fraud:"ok so the general flow i've witnessed is this: higher end contractor (H1B typically) is hired through Infosys. immediately starts asking for resources. the easiest ask is QA resources. those will be cheap and they get them from some farm in India. but regardless of the job function, the ...

TEDx Talks· 2025-10-01 15:45
Every one of us deserves the right to live equally. I think that's something most of us had already agreed upon. But do we wait.Yeah. Wait. Yeah.Okay. So, an ordinary person like us can look after ourselves. We can go to school and we'll get a job after we graduate.Maybe read a book some afternoon or if we have enough time and money, travel somewhere. Sounds quite ordinary, huh. That's just living and having a little fun from time to time to ensure that life isn't at all boring and meaningless. But such life ...

But more importantly, I will focus on addiction stigma and the society. When we talk about addiction, we are talking about someone who does not have control over the use of a chemical substance. It is >> it is a compulsive behavior >> and very relaxing. It is referred to as a chronic >> relapsing medical condition.Although we do not see it as such, we see it as a criminal issue but it is a health issue and that is the purpose of this presentation. Drug abuse is a global health challenge in Nigeria. The prev ...

It's April 2024 and I work in the automation engineering sector. It is one of the rare times that I'm actually working down from our headquarters in St. Albins's near London and I'm called into one of those dreaded can we have a quick word meetings by my line manager.I try to reassure myself that every everything will be okay because after all, I've managed to hit a 5-year target in just one year. I've managed to quadruple a business in my area in just 12 months. And I've had 10 years of consistent success. ...

Challenges in the Engineering Industry - The engineering industry faces a growing skills gap and a mental health emergency [11] - Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50 in the UK, with those in construction, engineering, and manufacturing being over three times more likely to die by suicide than the national average [12] - Research indicates that 81% of engineers report some form of emotional or mental health concern, yet less than half are comfortable discussing it with their employer [13] - An estimated shortfall of over 173,000 engineers is costing the UK economy around 15 billion pounds annually [14] - In a 12-month period, over 38,000 women left engineering roles in the UK, decreasing the proportion of women in engineering and technical roles [15] - Nearly 72% of queer individuals in engineering and automation have experienced or witnessed discrimination in the workplace [16] The Need for Engineered Inclusion - Inclusion should be engineered, not just emphasized, drawing from automation principles to build better systems [9][31] - The industry should apply the same engineering logic used for machines to the workplace, monitoring the people behind them [10][11] - Traditional employee engagement surveys are like scheduled maintenance, disruptive and inefficient; the industry needs condition monitoring for inclusion [21][22] - Condition monitoring for inclusion involves tracking psychological safety, workload, career progression, and cultural kindness as a continuous feedback loop [23] - Predictive systems for inclusion should build in early warning, redundancy, and resilience, tracking who gets promoted and who gets stuck mid-career [25][26] - Inclusion should be designed from the ground up, based on data, and treated with the same rigor as quality control [27][28]
