Core Viewpoint - The research team led by Zhao Bangchuan from the Hefei Institute of Material Science has made significant advancements in the development of sodium-ion battery cathode materials, achieving rapid sodium ion transport and excellent cycling stability through a multi-scale modification strategy [1] Group 1: Research Achievements - The modified Na3.91MnV0.97Mo0.03(PO4)3@Al2O3 (NMVMP@Al2O3) exhibits an initial discharge capacity of 99.3 mAh g⁻¹ at a rate of 0.1C, maintaining a capacity retention of 84.5% after 3000 cycles at a high rate of 10C, significantly outperforming unmodified materials and other reported NASICON-type cathode materials [1] - The volume change during the charge-discharge process of the modified material is only 3.66%, indicating high structural reversibility and stability [1] Group 2: Implications for Industry - This work lays a solid experimental and technical foundation for the practical application of NMVP cathodes and provides insights for the design of other polyanion-type electrode materials, contributing positively to the development of high stability and long-life sodium-ion batteries [1]
