If you are holding Bitcoin you are holding Bitcoin, if you are holding bitcoin (i.e. other-custodied) you are holding bitcoin (a claim of some sort for Bitcoin or equivalent value, presumably), if you are holding stock you are holding (usually also a claim for) stock, if you are holding art you are holding art, if you have a fiat savings account you are holding a claim for that fiat, etc. I don't know why people make this so much harder than it really is with such gooey ...
