Gov. Pritzker suggests protests could help GOP get over 'Trump Submission Syndrome'
MSNBC· 2025-06-14 04:15
If Tom Holman were to come to try to arrest us, my me rather, uh I can say first of all that he can try. Um I can also tell you that I will stand in the way of Tom Hman going after people who don't deserve to be frightened in their communities, who don't deserve to be threatened, terrorized. I would rather that he came and arrested me than do that to the people of my state. I would rather he came and arrested me than do that to the people of our state. Now, after that hearing, it's safe to say I had lots of ...
Ali Velshi: Protests demonstrate why, despite Trump's actions, America is still a democracy
MSNBC· 2025-06-14 03:20
Well, outrage over Donald Trump using the military as pawns in a manufactured crisis in Los Angeles is building just hours before Donald Trump intends to abuse the military again to celebrate, as Jen said, himself. Donald Trump is throwing a multi-million dollar military parade for the Army's 250th birthday, which just so happens to coincide with his 79th birthday. But that parade will be overshadowed by the more than 2,000 protest events planned in cities across the country to declare no kings in America. ...
Hayes on Trump's military parade: 'Something we just don't do as a country'
MSNBC· 2025-06-14 02:52
Donald Trump is holding a North Korean style military parade, Soviet style military parade through the nation's capital. Something that we just don't do as a country. Like the last one we did was after the first Persian Gulf War, which was celebrating the end of a war. We don't have that here. It just so happens to fall on his 79th birthday. He's even fundraising from it, if you could believe it. Well, you can, of course. Sending out this email with the subject line, quote, "Please help me before my militar ...
‘Makes Washington look feckless’: Experts slam U.S. response to Israel-Iran attacks
MSNBC· 2025-06-14 02:00
This makes Washington look pretty feckless, right? Because one of two things is true. Either Donald Trump did not want this to happen. Wanted Steve Wickoff to go there this weekend and Israel bombed Iran and killed the person that was overseeing those negotiations with Steve Wickoff. Or Donald Trump when he went to the Gulf Arabs a few weeks ago lied to them in saying that he won an Iran deal. Neither of those is a particularly good look for the United States. Either we're being duplicitous about matters as ...

Flip-flopper in chief: Trump claims to soften immigration policy without action
MSNBC· 2025-06-14 01:35
By now we know you can't take Donald Trump at his word. So we were suspicious to say the least when he signaled yesterday that he would alter his hardline immigration policies to prevent some deportations at American farms and hotels after hearing complaints from business leaders. And according to new reporting in the Washington Post, it is very clear that Trump has no intention of changing quote no such policy changes are underway according to three people with knowledge. Do we have the sound of where he s ...
'A test case': Melber on Padilla’s forced removal & Trump’s alleged power abuse
MSNBC· 2025-06-14 01:30
Tonight, as we end what has been a scandalous week for the use of federal powers in the United States, just want to briefly broaden out and remember it was also agents acting under the Trump administration that arrested and indicted a Democratic mayor in his own town of Newark, Ros Baraka, when he was outside an ICE facility. So, we have that footage, which again you could debate, but if you ask the Trump DOJ, was that the right thing. Was the mayor in the wrong. The answer now weeks later is no. The mayor w ...
‘Weak leader’: Dem Rep. blasts Trump amid Israel’s strikes and Iran’s retaliation
MSNBC· 2025-06-14 01:27
As more than 2,000 protests are set to begin against the president's agenda in just hours, the Trump administration says it wants the National Guard to play an even bigger role in enforcing that agenda. Trump's borders are Tom Holman tells the Washington Post, quote, "They can't make immigration arrests, but they can certainly augment for security, transportation, infrastructure, and intelligence." And Holman says he's open to using the guard to respond to protests if other cities quote go down the same pat ...

MSNBC· 2025-06-14 01:00
Good evening from New York. I'm Chris Hayes and thank you for joining us on a very, very busy Friday. We're covering a whole bunch of developing stories, including the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran that began, or at least this round of it began 24 hours ago when Israel launched those military strikes against the capital city of Thran, targeting both nuclear and military infrastructure, as well as key leaders, the armed forces, residential homes.Iran then retaliated earlier today starting aroun ...
Huge: See lawmaker fighting Trump DOJ’s bid to imprison Dems for ICE 'oversight'
MSNBC· 2025-06-14 00:53
We are talking about Donald Trump very clearly ordering and wanting the visuals of United States Marines patrolling American streets. This is kind of capping what has been a week of escalating use of federal force tested in the courts. Donald Trump trying to clearly seize on the situation in Los Angeles, a situation that has had isolated violence dating to last weekend around basically a couple blocks and trying to escalate that into what he's doing now, which is saying he gets to keep the National Guard th ...
