This is just completely the opposite of what journalism actually is. I mean, if we agree to that, we're no longer reporters. I I have two reactions.One, you know, of all the buildings, this is the one that has an $800 billion budget that can send American troops into harm's way. So, the idea that we can't ask questions about such consequential decisions is frightening to me. The Trump administration is trying to make it even harder for reporters at the Pentagon to do their jobs of keeping us all aware of what the Defense Department is up to. NPR reports that going forward, journalists must sign a pledge not to gather any information, including unclassified reports, that has not been authorized for release.
