Group 1 - The railway department has implemented a new train operation schedule starting from July 1, with 54 pairs of conventional trains departing from Guangzhou Baiyun Station, marking its upgrade to a core hub for conventional trains in Guangdong [1][2] - A total of 30 pairs of conventional trains will be relocated from Guangzhou Station to Guangzhou Baiyun Station, which will handle 44 pairs of originating and terminating conventional trains and 10 pairs of passing trains, covering popular destinations such as Urumqi, Lhasa, Harbin, Shenyang, Qingdao, Mudanjiang, Ningbo, and Shanghai [2][3] - The adjustment of train services will concentrate conventional train operations at the newly established Guangzhou Baiyun Station, enhancing passenger convenience and optimizing the use of resources at Guangzhou Station and Guangzhou East Station for high-speed trains and intercity transport, thereby improving overall operational efficiency to meet the growing demand for rapid commuting and business travel in the Greater Bay Area [3] Group 2 - The completion of the second layer of the Dalong Passenger Car Maintenance Center's cover marks a significant milestone in the development of the largest railway maintenance facility in the country, paving the way for residential and supporting infrastructure construction [4] - The project, which took only 214 days to complete the first layer covering approximately 160,000 square meters, is set to become the first comprehensive development project built on a railway maintenance facility, effectively addressing the traditional barriers between urban space and railway infrastructure [4][5] - The Dalong Passenger Car Maintenance Center will consolidate the functions of the original Guangzhou and Shipai maintenance facilities, significantly enhancing the capacity of the Guangzhou railway hub and promoting transportation connectivity in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area [5]
