Core Viewpoint - The successful production of domestically manufactured T1000 grade carbon fiber in Datong, Shanxi, marks a significant breakthrough in the large-scale production of high-performance carbon fiber in China [1] Group 1: Project Overview - The first phase of the project has a demonstration production line with a capacity of 200 tons per year, which commenced construction in June 2024 and is expected to be completed by November 30, 2025 [1] - The T1000 grade carbon fiber produced has a single filament diameter of only 6 to 7 micrometers, less than one-tenth the thickness of a human hair, yet boasts a tensile strength exceeding 6400 megapascals [1] Group 2: Material Properties - The density of the T1000 grade carbon fiber is only one-fourth that of steel, while its strength is over five times that of steel [1] - A one-meter long bundle of Huayang carbon material T1000 grade carbon fiber weighs only 0.5 grams but can support a load of over 200 kilograms [1] Group 3: Applications and Significance - The T1000 grade carbon fiber integrates core advantages such as high strength, lightweight, high and low-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and good thermal and electrical conductivity [1] - This development breaks China's reliance on imported high-end carbon fiber and has significant implications for national strategic material security, with applications in defense, aerospace, rail transportation, and low-altitude economy sectors [1]
