CNET· 2025-07-09 14:01
I'm decked out in watches because I am checking out the new Galaxy Watch 8, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and the new version of the Galaxy Watch Ultra. This is the titanium blue version. Now, as you'll notice, a lot of design changes to talk about, starting with this beautiful rotating bezel. One of my favorite features of the Galaxy watches from the past is back, but there's a catch. So, I'll get to that later. Let's continue on with all the other health features, which are kind of front and center this year ...

The path to the CEO's office should not be through the CFO's office, and it should not be through the marketing department. It needs to be through engineering and design.Elon Musk https://t.co/u8Nm9vJmJc ...
Designing beyond sight | Nilou Vakil | TEDxKU
TEDx Talks· 2025-07-08 16:38
Core Argument - The design industry predominantly focuses on visual aspects, neglecting other senses, leading to an impoverished environment [5][6][7] - The industry should shift from sight-centered design to sense-centered design, incorporating touch, hearing, scent, and memory to create richer, more responsive, and human-centered spaces [23][24] - The industry needs to involve all users in the design process, not just experts, to create spaces that belong to everyone [21][22][23] Sensory Design & Empathy - The industry can learn from visually impaired individuals to understand how to navigate spaces through all senses [3][4][5] - Experiential exercises, such as using low vision simulators and blindfolds, can foster empathy and inform design thinking [10][11] - Integrating sensory experiences and empathy into the design process can lead to more inclusive and user-friendly spaces [13][24] Design Tools & Communication - The industry can utilize tools like sensory design cards to facilitate communication between educators, students, stakeholders, and architects [14][15][20] - These cards can bridge the gap between technical expertise and user experience, enabling mutual understanding and collaborative decision-making [15][16][20] - The design cards categorize sensory considerations like clarity, acoustics, environmental sensory, pathfinding, materials, textures, and lighting [18]

Bienvenue à TED. Ted, on s'y est si bien habitué qu'on en oublierait la signification. TD, vous vous souvenez.Technologie entertainment design.

User Experience (UX) - The industry has under-indexed on UX, highlighting its importance [1] - Speed is a critical aspect of design, impacting user experience [1][2] - Load times significantly affect user engagement; aesthetics are secondary to performance [1] Technology & Performance - The Doherty threshold (400ms) poses a challenge for blockchain update speeds [1] - Reducing block times to near-zero is crucial for EVM chains [1]
The Robot That Broke the Rules — And What It Means for the Future of AI | Wojciech Matusik | TEDxMIT
TEDx Talks· 2025-07-02 15:22
Think of the most groundbreaking invention of the past 100 years. The internet, electricity, the microchip. What do they all have in common. They didn't follow rules. They broke them. And that's how they changed the world. But here's the thing. AI doesn't break rules. It follows them meticulously, relentlessly, even the learning kind.It excels within the lines we draw. So if AI just follows rules, can it ever help us design something truly new. I saw a glimpse of an answer in my own lab.We were running an exp ...

Good design hasn’t changed with AI - John Pham
AI Engineer· 2025-06-17 04:15
Bad designs are still bad. AI doesn’t make it good. The novelty of AI makes the bad things tolerable, for a short time. Building great designs and experiences with AI have the same first principles pre-AI. When people use software, they want it to feel responsive, safe, accessible and delightful. We’ll go over the big and small details that goes into software that people want to use, not forced to use. About John Pham I'm John Pham, an engineer and a self-taught designer. I seek the dopamine hits of buildin ...
