Let's talk more about the Fed and what's at stake today. Joining us on the phone is Alan Blinder, former Federal Reserve vice chair and Princeton professor. Allan, it's great to have you. Thanks for joining us this morning. >> Thank you. >> Uh so this consensus idea of a hawkish cut, minimal commitment to further cuts, you got any problem with what the street expects at least.>> I don't. I often do actually as you probably remember from past appearances, but in this case I don't. I think it makes perfect sen ...

It's Jordan Jackson. Nice to have you here at Post9 as well. It's a pretty big week.Got the Fed, you got Oracle, Broadcom. What are you thinking about. >> Well, we're keeping an eye on the Fed.Obviously, we think the Fed's going to cut rates. Um I think you are going to see a number of dissensions. Obviously, uh Mir's likely going to favor more aggressive easing. We could see a couple descents uh for for no easing at all. It's funny when we were uh penning our outlook AI lift and economic drift, uh we titled ...

The bond market isn’t buying President Donald Trump’s idea that faster rate cuts will send bond yields sliding down and, in turn, slash the rates on mortgages, credit cards and other types of loans. https://t.co/ctnm7178mT ...

Want to speculate on the next fed chair?Hasset is already at 72% chance. But i think the under the radar trade would be hammering 3 or 4 rate cuts for 2026.Reason being, Hasset is a dovish indiviudal who would side with Trump on MORE cuts than less.If he is this much of a shoe-in for Fed Chair.3 + 4 rate cuts should also be much higher. You can essentially take 2-4 rate cuts for a 50c combined average.Which means if you evenly buy 1000 shares of each, and next year we get anywhere from 2-4 rate cuts. You clea ...

Bloomberg Television· 2025-12-03 21:41
There's a wide expectation that the Federal Reserve Board might lower again in December. Do you have a view on whether if the Fed does lower it should be 25 basis points or 50 basis points as a president or do you have a view on what might be better for the economy. >> Well, I you know first want to say that that I have high regard for Jay Powell.I've known him for a long time. Have uh had economic conversations with him many many times during the last administration and this time too. I think at times he a ...

Hassett Emerges as Frontrunner to Be Next Fed Chair
Bloomberg Television· 2025-11-25 18:26
President Trump has been pretty high on Kevin Hasset really since June. They had a bunch of private meetings in June that my sources told me went really well. Um and then you know the process just uh you know petered out a little bit. There have been so many sort of foreign policy challenges that he's been dealing with that that the Fed search just took a little bit of a back seat. Um and so now it is cropping back up now that people are looking to Powell's term ending in 2026 and Hasset really is still the ...
